Church Staff 

Kendall Pastor – Our, Rev. Kendall H. Brown, pastor was called to our church in July, 2001.  Kendall and his wife Cheryl are New Englanders.  Their daughter, Hannah, lives and works in San Francisco.  Kendall is a graduate of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine and Bangor Theological Seminary in Bangor, Maine.  He has done post graduate work at Hartford Seminary Foundation, Andover Newton Theological School, Mansfield, College in Oxford, England, Eden Theological Seminary and Worcester Pastoral Counseling Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.  He is serving on the Faith Education Committee of the Indian/Kentucky Conference, United Church of Christ and is presently the vice president of the Tri State Association, IN/KY CONF, UCC.  Spirituality and art are two particular interests of our minister and this interest is often reflected in our worship program.  Kendall brought Taizé Worship to our church and to the UCC community in Evansville.  Music as a component of worship is especially important to him.  He, our music leaders (see below) and choir work together to increase the diversity of music as an expression of worship here at Christ Church. 

 

Choir Director  - Suzanne Perrey is our Choir Director.  A member of Christ Church, Suzanne brings many years of experience in directing choirs in several churches to this position.  She also works with our children, ministering to them in our Church School Program.   Whenever appropriate and as much as possible, Suzanne combines the voices of children and adults in anthems prepared for worship.

 

Organist – Since May 27 2007, Delores Hedeman has been our organist.  We are pleased to welcome Delores to our staff. She is a native of Evansville. She graduated from Reitz High School; Attended Elmhurst College; graduated with a BS in Elementary Education from McKendree College in Lebanon, IL.  She has taught primary grades while living in Missouri, Illinois and Minnesota. She and her husband, Bob, returned to Evansville in 1987. She earned a Master’s degree in school counseling  and worked at Daniel Wertz Elementary from ‘87 until her retirement in 2000. Over the past forty-five years she has served as organist at UCC, Methodist, and Roman Catholic churches. For the past fifteen years she has been director of Salem (Heusler) UCC Bells of Praise Handbell Choir. She also was a piano teacher.  She and her husband, Bob, a retired UCC pastor, have two daughters - Becky Melchoir of Evansville and Jennifer Solomon of Madison, WI. They have four grandchildren.

 

Red Door Preschool Director - Our New director is Mary Jo Falkenstein, who began in this position on July 1, 2006.

Custodian - Don Geppner is our custodian.  He diligently cleans our church with the assistance of his wife, Pat.  He can be found on duty four evenings a week.  Don also works as the janitor at Eastside Christian Church (Disciples), a neighboring church to us.
